Our second gig. Not so fantastic.
We had some issues. Someone was 30m late due to overbooking, health issues attacked, and the bass repeatedly kept disconnecting and had absolutely no low-end to it.
We sounded like shit. It was a rough day. Not especially inspiring, but you live and learn.

0 - The Fool // Where journey begins.

Our first gig, went amazingly well considering that most first gigs are notoriously disastrous.
Fuel is where all bands in Cardiff get their first day playing live, it's legendary in the local scene.

We had the notorious Fuel Sound Check -- 5 minutes to make sure your rig doesn't catch on fire and your 300 instruments are in tune, which wasn't enough time obviously, since Ron's baritone was detuned and we didn't get a chance to check it.
But hey, we knocked it out of the park anyway (as far as first gigs are concerned).

    Sleepless is Nameless,
    Cathays Community Centre (CCC)

It all started due to a website glitch.

Ron and Hydref were users of JoinMyBand at the time, and both saw a listing for a Post-Rock band in Cardiff.
Ron offered his services as "primarily bassist, favourite as baritone and occasional violinist".

But this message would, incredibly, not reach the original poster but instead a reply-commenter (a feature rarely used), which happened to be Hydref, who happened to know a drummer looking for another band.

Ron sat down at the benches out the front waiting for the others to show up, noticing he had a new follower on instagram, and decided to open his profile.
    "Ah, must be the drummer".
A minute of patiently waiting goes by and this dude with long hair sits down.

"Must be one of the other musicians going into a room soon."
    . . .
"Wait a second- is that the guy- that I have open on instagram??"

So Ron gave it a second of consideration, looking back and forth betwixt phone and human, giggling, before the mysterious musician turned to see what was with the sudden laughter, and asking them cautiously:
"This may seem like a strange question, but is this you?"

And so I (John Sleepless) was also roped in, and, although we sounded a bit pants (especially as an inexperienced singer), having a bassist and drummer that can lock in at first meeting is rare, and to me, there was this feeling of like waking up for the first time, finally.
It felt right. I knew instantly it was going to work out.
